The Tax Staff is responsible for a range of tax-related duties at both local and national levels, including supporting compliance with property, sales, and other business taxes. This role assists in tax return preparation and ensures the secure handling of sensitive information in accordance with established guidelines and supervisory oversight. Grow with us as we continue to expand our network of locations and services. Responsibilities: Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns. Support property tax management with data entry, tracking, validating, remitting, and accruing monthly property taxes. Facilitates state sales/use tax audits by retrieving vendor documents from electronic databases and other data retrieval under guidance. Validates and logs sales tax exemption certificates from customers for staff review. Ensure tax filings are timely, accurate, and compliant with federal and state tax regulations. Prepare payment requests. Assist staff accountants in preparing financial statements related to taxes and preparing supporting schedules for audits. Assist the tax manager with tax planning strategies. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience in property, sales, or business taxes; or applicable work experience in lieu of education is accepted. Experience with tax preparation or accounting internships. A valid driver’s license may be required, along with a driving record that meets the requirements of the company’s insurance provider. Other Skills and Abilities Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and tax software. Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Maintain accurate records and documentation for tax returns ensuring proper documentation for audits and reviews.
