Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join our dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance while mentoring staff and managing client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in tax planning, compliance, and leadership within a collaborative CPA firm environment.
Responsibilities:
• Review tax returns prepared by staff, identify potential issues, and conduct research to provide effective solutions.
• Manage the tax return preparation workflow to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Handle complex tax returns, including individual, trust, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp filings, as well as state income tax returns.
• Supervise engagement phases such as planning, budgeting, staff direction, and performance monitoring against established goals.
• Prepare detailed personal tax projections using specialized software.
• Communicate with taxing authorities to address and resolve client issues, including drafting response letters for partner review.
• Assist with client billing processes and prepare various reports and special projects as required.
• Stay informed on economic trends and potential tax legislation changes that could impact clients or the business environment.
• Support staff development by participating in recruiting, performance evaluations, career mentoring, and training programs.
• Contribute to the firm's growth by expanding service offerings and building strong relationships with current and prospective clients. Requirements • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including individual, trust, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp filings.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CaseWare, and ADP Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of compliance, auditing, and tax legislation.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, set budgets, and supervise staff effectively.
• Familiarity with preparing annual income tax provisions and tax projections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to correspond with tax authorities and draft high-quality documents.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members through training and performance evaluations.
• A CPA license or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
