Tax Manager - Public
Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will oversee tax compliance, planning, and research while leading a team to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to apply your expertise in public accounting and tax strategy in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities: • Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including corporate, S-Corp, partnership, multi-state, consolidated, individual, 990s, and trust returns. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and serve as a technical resource for partners and staff, offering insights on complex tax matters. • Analyze financial statements and evaluate the tax implications of business transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Develop strategic tax planning recommendations for clients in collaboration with partners. • Conduct thorough research on intricate tax issues and provide accurate guidance to clients. • Respond to federal and state tax audits and notices with detailed and timely solutions. • Supervise and mentor tax staff, fostering their growth and ensuring effective team collaboration. • Manage staff schedules to optimize productivity and resource utilization. • Communicate effectively with partners, staff, and clients to maintain strong relationships. • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment while ensuring high-quality service delivery. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting. • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. • CPA license or EA certification is required. • Proficiency in accounting and tax software, including CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently. • Solid understanding of annual income tax provisions and corporate tax returns.
