Summary: The Tax Manager will provide hands-on experience across a broad range of accounting and tax functions, with a primary focus on preparing individual and business tax returns. Responsibilities: * Will lead a team of 5 * Prepare and review individual, partnership, S corp, and C corp tax returns * Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations * Assist with year-end tax planning and projections * Handle IRS and state correspondence, including audits and notices * Improve processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and client experience * Stay current on tax law updates and share knowledge with the team * Support monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations * Implement QuickBooks and other accounting tech for clients * Advise clients on daily accounting matters * Assist with benefit setup (e.g., 401(k), insurance) * Deliver clear monthly financial summaries to clients * Support integration of acquired CPA firms (accounting, payroll, tax systems) * Research and share best practices across locations * Collaborate on system improvements and standardization
