Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Director or Tax Manager to join our dynamic team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering innovative solutions for complex tax challenges while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will play a key role in helping clients achieve their business goals through strategic tax planning, risk management, and forward-looking insights.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering exceptional service tailored to their needs.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of various tax forms to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide expert consultation on complex tax provisions and support clients on intricate engagements.
• Research and stay informed on evolving tax regulations, delivering actionable insights and guidance.
• Develop and implement efficient processes to improve project outcomes and departmental workflows.
• Mentor and guide team members to foster their growth and enhance overall team performance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering strategic advice to address their unique tax challenges.
• Lead business development efforts to expand the firm's reach and contribute to its growth.
• Manage financial aspects of engagements, including budgets, billing, and collections.
• Drive innovation in tax planning strategies to optimize outcomes for clients. Requirements
Tax Director:
+ CPA certification required, MST preferred
+ 10+ years of public accounting experience.
+ Experience directly managing and interacting with clients through a variety of channels
+ Attention to detail
+ Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software
+ Advanced knowledge of applicable accounting software, QuickBooks, CCH Axcess, Engagement, XCM workflow.
+ Substantial knowledge of 1040, 1041, Partnerships, S-Corps, and 1099
+ Experience in individual clients, high net worth individuals, trust & estates, state tax, and pensions
+ Adept at meeting deadlines and solving problems
Tax Manager:
• CPA certification required, MST preferred
• 3-6+ years of experience in a tax role with a public accounting firm
• Proven work experience as a successful Tax Manager
• Strong technical tax skills and excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all type of tax returns
• Analytical skills and detail orientation with strong research capabilities
• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple engagements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with CCH Axcess, Profx Engagement, and CCH Axcess Document a plus
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills
