Tax Director/Manager - Corporate
Description We are looking for a Tax Director/Manager to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This role involves overseeing critical financial and compliance functions, including travel and entertainment reimbursements, accounts payable, and tax services. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and organizational regulations while contributing to strategic planning and operational excellence. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage teams responsible for travel, entertainment, and relocation reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Oversee accounts payable processing and tax compliance to maintain operational efficiency. • Serve as the functional owner of systems related to travel, reimbursement, and tax treaty verification. • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. • Represent the organization in system-wide and campus-wide discussions, offering strategic insights. • Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial practices with organizational goals. • Develop and maintain documentation processes to streamline compliance and reporting. • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance software and financial regulations. • Analyze and resolve discrepancies that could impact unit or campus-wide operations. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial systems and processes. Requirements • Extensive experience in corporate tax compliance and financial management. • Proficiency in compliance software and tools such as Microsoft Excel. • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. • Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial systems and processes. • Excellent leadership and team management skills. • Effective communication and collaboration abilities across various organizational levels. • Experience in documentation and reporting for compliance purposes. • Analytical skills to identify and address operational risks and discrepancies.
