Tax Compliance Technician - Business License

The Technician is responsible for various functions inside the tax department. This may include the renewal and processing of business license applications, sales/use tax registrations, and cross training on processing sales tax exemption certificates.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Process business license and sales tax registration renewals including general ledger coding, mailing and document retention.

Audit and process all sales tax exemption certificates.

Answer internal and external customer phone calls and handle inquiries.

Maintain and organize files and department database as needed.

Perform various administrative tasks for the department.

All other duties and functions as required by the tax department.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong attention to detail and organization skills

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple deadline-driven projects

Desired:

Associate’s Degree

Previous office experience

Previous experience with business licensing and sales tax

Excellent oral and written communication skills
