Tax Analyst - Indirect Taxation
**Work Schedule** Standard (Mon-Fri) **Environmental Conditions** Office **Job Description** **Job Description – Tax Analyst, Indirect Taxation** Location: Bangalore, India Business Unit: Thermo Fisher Scientific (USD 500M India business) **Role & Responsibilities** **Purpose: -** To support Thermo Fisher’s India business (~USD 500M) in managing all aspects of Indirect Tax, including GST compliance, litigation, assessments, and audits, as part of the India Taxation team. **Key Responsibilities** + **Compliance Management** + Supervise the tax compliance calendar to ensure timely filing of all indirect tax returns and payments. + Prepare and file monthly GST returns, annual returns, and reconciliation statements. + Review classification of products under appropriate HSN codes. + Reconcile GST Input Tax Credit (GSTR-2B vs. books of accounts) + Ensure timely accounting entries w.r.t. GST ITC availments, utilization, reversals etc. + **Litigation & Assessments** + Handle all indirect tax assessments, litigations, and audits. + Prepare submissions, schedules, and supporting documents for GST assessments. + Maintain a notice register and supervise status of ongoing cases. + Correspond with tax authorities and provide timely responses. + **Audit & Reporting** + Support statutory, tax, and internal audits with required schedules and reconciliations. + Prepare MIS reports and management updates on tax positions. + **Process & System Improvements** + Actively participate in automation and process simplification initiatives in indirect taxation. + Ensure accurate reconciliations and upload internal reconciliations on a monthly basis. + Drive efficiency and strengthen compliance processes. + **Collaborator Coordination** + Work together with internal teams and external collaborators to address tax-related questions. + Provide guidance to business teams on indirect tax matters. **Candidate Profile** **Education & Experience** + Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3–4 years of relevant experience. + Prior experience in MNCs or Big4 audit firms preferred. **Skills & Knowledge** + Strong exposure to handling tax audits and departmental assessments. + Experience in process improvements/automation in indirect tax domain. + Proficiency in ledger scrutiny, reconciliations of tax returns/forms to GL balances. + Advanced Excel skills. + Excellent written and oral communication skills.
