Position: Tax Analyst III (multiple positions available)
Location: Seattle, WA
Multiple Positions Available:
1. Participate in domestic indirect and direct tax audits and controversy matters, including administrative appeals and litigation preparation, with primary focus on state and local tax controversy and related projects.
2. Prepare, plan and advise on responses to information document requests and similar inquiries from State and Local Tax authorities.
3. Conduct legal research and document state and local tax issues, from a controversy perspective.
4. Coordinate communications on controversy matters with internal teams, including Amazon Legal, Tax Reporting, Accounting, and other teams.
5. Develop strong working relationships across State & Local Tax cross-functional teams, including State Tax Policy, Tax Planning, Indirect and Direct Tax Compliance, and other teams.
6. Implement and execute process improvements to further development of the State and Local Tax (SALT) Audit Team.
(40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $122,346.00/year to $157,200.00/year)

Basic Qualifications
A Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field and 4 years of experience in tax analysis or tax accounting. In the alternative, the employer will accept LL.M degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field and 2 years of experience in tax analysis or tax accounting.
Membership or anticipated membership in a U.S. state bar or CPA certification is required.
Experience must include:
(1) 2 years of experience in State & Local Tax or indirect tax transactions (VAT/GST) controversy with a public accounting firm or big law firm.
(2) 2 years of experience in compliance or audit experience with indirect tax (VAT/GST), or multi-state Corporate Income Tax and/or Sales & Use Tax
(3) 2 years of experience working on tax planning and optimization projects.
(4) 2 years of experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department or big law firm.
(5) 2 years of experience writing tax technical documents.
The pay range for this position in Seattle, Washington is $122,346.00/year to $157,200.00/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
