The Job

The Tax Analyst, based in Mexico City, will support various aspects of tax compliance and reporting related to WBD’s LATAM operations across several countries.  The Tax Analyst will gain a strong understanding of WBD systems as well as build strong relationships with GBS and Controllership teams, as well as tax counterparts in order to deliver coordinated and best in class results.

The Daily – Major Activities

Tax compliance and audit support across various jurisdictions: Support with information gathering for annual CIT returns, as well as with annual statutory audits, primarily in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Colombia.Assist in preparation of relevant information to present in local governmental offices (Eg: BCRA, INDEC, SII, and others). Provide support with the calculation of fixed assets amortization, inflation adjustment and annual tax deferral for Argentina/Chile entities.Responsible for copying accounting and tax books and safeguarding them for tax documentation purposes.Preparation of national and municipal magnetic media for Colombia entities.Preparing and filling VAT Returns of D2C segment for Latam countries.Support in gathering data for transfer pricing documentation and calculations for operationsSupport local tax inspections as needed in coordination with relevant teamsTax reporting responsibilities for various LATAM jurisdictions including: assistance in the preparation of certain quarterly tax packages/deliverables due to the Corporate Tax department (AR/ /MX/CO/PA/BB/VE). Support in the tax account reconciliation process. Support in creating standardized processes for reconciliations across LATAM.Assist with SOX controls for the Tax cycle.Identify and implement process improvements, including generating new management reports to identify potential risks, differences & anomalies or explain monthly.Provide support preparing the quarterly and annual forecast (income, cashflow and another forecast requested by treasury or AP.

Ad hoc tax needs based on projects, advisory or other tax planning opportunitiesAssist in system localization updates, new developments, and implementations of systems interfaces. PO Generation

The Essentials

Degree in Tax or Accounting2 - 3 years of local tax experience managing tax compliance and other local tax matters Hands-on experience with local income tax and US GAAPExtensive knowledge of SAP, Excel, and AFIP interfaces as well as PowerPointAbility to interact with other teams clearly and effectively, including accounting & finance teams, legal, and corporate tax partners, as well as with outsourced accountants in the local countries.
