**Tax Advisor, National Tax (Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax) (Senior Manager) (Multiple Positions) (1634463), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Houston, TX.**
Advise clients on their businesses to help navigate the digital age of tax transparency alongside new trends in tax compliance. Acts as a subject matter expert to solve the most pressing challenges that businesses face. Assist with the implementation of a transaction tax calculation engine to automate the tax determination, calculation and compliance processes with respect to our client's sales and/or purchases. Monitor assigned tasks until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging systems, documenting and implementing process change and monitoring overall project profitability. Assist with the production of leading practice indirect tax software solutions, and support and automate internal and external operations of multinational tax departments. Consolidate tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient. Improve reporting capabilities to enhance our clients’ ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities. Support project team members in any way needed to help ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services. Generate and manage new business opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Tax, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and 8 years of work experience in indirect tax process and data improvement (of which 5 years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate). Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Tax, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and 7 years of work experience in indirect tax process and data improvement.
Must have 7 years of experience in indirect income tax process and/or operational assessments.
Must have 7 years of experience in indirect Tax Data and Reporting requirements for ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, and/or Hyperion).
Must have 7 years of experience implementing third-party direct or indirect tax systems including ONESOURCE, CorpTax, Vertex, Avalara, and/or Longview.
Must have 7 years of experience identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial and/or tax systems and emerging technologies.
Must have 7 years of experience with data and analytics solutions.
Must have 7 years of experience developing ETL solutions.
Must have 7 years of experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax, including ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, and/or finance transformations.
Must have 5 years of experience managing tax engagements, including engagement-related budgeting and billing, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and escalating issues to tax partners or executives as needed.
Must have 5 years of experience supervising teams consisting of at least 2 people on multiple projects and providing direction to team members.
Must hold at least one of the following certifications/accreditations: Certified Digital Product Manager (CDPM); Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Master's degree in accounting, tax, business administration, finance, computer science, information systems or engineering; Certified Member of the Institute (CMI); Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or foreign equivalent; Certified Scrum Professional Certifications (CSPC); Certified SAFe Professionals; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA); PMI Agile Certified Practitioner; Vertex Certified Implementer; Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Certified Implementer Program (CIP); Microsoft Certified Azure or DevOps Professional Certification; SQL Server Database Certification; and/or Microsoft Certified Power Platform App.
Requires domestic travel up to 50% and/or international travel up to 20% in order to serve client needs.
