D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Tax Accountant for their Tax Department. The right candidate will assistin the preparation of federal and state tax returns, ensuring tax compliance, preparing tax provisions, research, special projects and other tax matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Accumulate, analyze and process financial accounting data to prepare tax returns, tax return workpapers, estimated tax payments and tax provision workpapersWork with divisions and other departments to distribute and gather documentation for tax return filingsPerform detail review of general ledger accountsResearch and analyze tax laws, planning strategies and other tax issuesProvide updates on tax legislative changesAssist with federal and state income tax audits including the preparation of responses to audit inquiries and noticesAssist with various special projects and other administrative itemsOrganize and maintain records of EFTP'sPrepare other non-income tax filingsUpdate job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities and reading professional publicationsConduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAble to travel overnight

Master's degree; Big 4 CPA firm experience; CPA Certification or actively pursuingStrong verbal and written communications skills; work well under pressure to meet deadlines; ability to work independently, multi-task and provide attention to detailAbility to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data
