THE POSITION

If so, the Department of Revenue is seeking a diligent Tax Account Collections Technician to assist with interpreting Pennsylvania tax laws and applying those guidelines to individual taxes to protect the Commonwealth's interest. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Tax Account Collections Technician, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive reviews of highly complex individual tax accounts to ensure adherence to Pennsylvania tax laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will be tasked with reviewing individual taxes, completing any necessary corrections, and informing the taxpayer of their right to appeal the bureau's decision. This professional also r equests the filing of liens, d etermines individual tax liabilities, and computes penalty and interest calculations as necessary. We are looking for someone who possesses outstanding communication skills and is dedicated towards d emonstrating a commitment to the service-oriented culture of the department.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, upon successful completion of the required 6 month in-office training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience reviewing tax documents and applying tax laws and rules and regulations and making taxpayer liability decisions ; or
+ Three years of experience in the collection of taxes ; or
+ Three year of experience in the provision of taxpayer assistance which involves the ex planation of the application of tax laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures ; or
+ Any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the required knowledges, skills and abilities.

+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
+ This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
