Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Job Description

The Network Architect also collaborates with the customer on the IP addressing, network size, routing protocols, and security requirements, such as firewall and encryption.  The Network Architect works with the individual tower Architects to solution the specific application and system network requirements, such as ports, protocols, security rules and latency.  With this data collected, he or she then develops a detailed network architecture and design that addresses the customer's needs and objectives.  The best technologies and products are selected ensuring compatibility, interoperability, and integration with the customer's existing and new data network components.

Diagrams:  The network Architect creates and updates high-level and low-level network diagrams that show the WAN connectivity, LAN, geolocations, datacenter connectivity, firewalls, IPs, routing, ports, and interfaces of the network components and topology. The diagrams are used to communicate the network design and configuration to the customer and the other Architects.

Implementation: The Network Architect assists with the network configuration and testing process. He or she is involved with all network troubleshooting sessions and usually discovers the problem and provides the solution. The network Architect also provides solutions for customer changes, new requirements or any additions in scope.

Artifacts:  The Network Architect produces and maintains additional network artifacts such as IP Assignment Management Table (end-to-end planning, deploying, managing and monitoring of the IP address infrastructure), VLAN tracker, rack elevation, Cable Matrix (physical source and destination of every cable connected to a device), VPN requirements, demarc information, and equipment inventory.

Cabling Requests.  Creates template for MIRI requests (PADsmrt replacement) for structured cabling.

Acting with Sense of Urgency.  Most teams must have network connectivity to complete Transition or Transformation and to support the client.

Functions

•            Network Assessment: Conduct a thorough analysis of the current state of the customer's data network infrastructure, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks.

•            Network Consulting and Design: Consult with the customer and other architects to solution the low-level details of end-to-end network connectivity, including data center requirements and security protocols.

•            Diagrams: Create and update high-level and low-level network diagrams to communicate the network design and configuration.

•            Implementation: Assist with network configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and provide solutions for customer changes or new requirements.

•            Artifacts Management: Produce and maintain additional network artifacts such as IP Assignment Management Table, VLAN tracker, Cable Matrix, VPN requirements, and equipment inventory.
