High-end Systems and Test Engineering: Deliver test strategies and advanced engineering solutions to the Program Manager and Lead Engineer in support of a high-priority Air Force and Joint-Service weapon acquisition program
Advanced Decision Support: Provide analytical and decision-support capabilities to inform complex decisions related to the design, assessment, and optimization of current and future military systems
Systems Integration: Integrate mechanical, data, and digital systems for end-to-end system design
Cross-functional Teamwork: Collaborate with program managers, engineers, industry, and Government stakeholders to ensure that requirements are properly defined, risks are identified and mitigated, and test events are conducted effectively to validate performance and mission readiness
Digital Requirements Management: Manage system and model requirements using requirements management tools. Ensure clear traceability from requirements through design, development, test, and delivery.
Modern Test Strategies and Advanced Validation Techniques: Expand and enhance the application of modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tools, along with other advanced analytical methodologies and digital capabilities, to support improved decision-making across acquisition, planning, and operational domains. Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test procedures aligned with DoD and program requirements. Define test objectives, success criteria, and resource needs for developmental and operational test phases. Document, analyze, and report test results, providing recommendations for improvements and risk mitigation.
Digital Transformation: Provide digital transformation of systems and test engineering data, tools, and processes to enhance integration, traceability, and decision-making across the system development lifecycle. Provide digital and data transformation solutions to Senior Leaders to improve engineering processes, tools and techniques
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and document program and technical risks related to system design, test execution, production, and sustainment. Develop and maintain risk registers with mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Provide risk-based decision support to leadership and stakeholders.
Work Environment:
Location: On-site at Eglin AFB, FLTravel Requirements: Moderate 20-30%Working Hours: Flexible. Availability for ad-hoc and recurring customer and team meetings during core business hours. Position likely to have limited telework.Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical fieldMinimum 20 years of experience in engineering for DoD or aerospace programs with at least 5 years in test strategy or executionLevel III Defense Acquisition University certification in Engineering or TestDirect experience on ACAT I programs in the development phase as an Engineer or Test Manager on an air-to-air or air-to-ground weapons program.BroadProven experience with requirements management, risk management, and test planning and execution.Strong communication, briefing, and technical writing skills.Current DoD Top Secret clearance is required.Desired:
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field25+ years experience executing the required tasks with 8+ years working in or advising the leadership level, or serving in a ACAT I engineering or test leadership positionPrior experience with air-to-air or air-to-ground armament systemsStrong experience with mechanical systems, MS&A, test and evaluation and complex systems integrationFamiliarity with risk analysis frameworks such as FMEA, PRA, or MIL-STD-882.Working knowledge of Agile/DevSecOps approaches for system development and test integration.Ready to Make a Difference?
