The Opportunity   

The Systems Senior Administrator - Windchill provides user support for large Windchill PLM and other systems. Responsible for system and application administration ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and objectives. This role focuses on user issue resolution, monitoring of the applications, coordinating activities across internal IT teams and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with established standards.

What You’ll Work On

Provide User support (L2) for a large global Windchill PLM system and other systems managed by the teamWork with vendors (including PTC), infrastructure teams (OS, Hardware, database, Networking) to find resolution to the issuesCreate and update best practices / knowledge base articles for troubleshooting and solving user issuesProvide rotating on-call support during the weekendsProvide support in gathering hardware specifications and requesting the hardware and OS builds of the systemsProvide support during the application installations and upgradesProvide support with on-going application maintenance including Logs management, Queue Management, Certificate updates, Password resets, and application restartsProvide support during system maintenance activities including coordinating with infrastructure teams for OS patches, deploying application patchesProvide support during Windchill project deployment activitiesPerform periodic data refreshes the non-production environments as demanded by the projectsSet up application user access for non-production systemsMonitor and provide support for optimal system performance by working with infrastructure teams and vendors including PTC.

Maintain service account profiles used by the application.

Perform application data loads based on the directions provided by Windchill technical teamDevelops technical disaster recovery plans and participates in testing. Designs, tests and implements system security.Provide support in maintaining the scheduled jobs and scriptsMonitor the scheduled jobsKeeps informed of trends and new developments in technology to better advise management of systems goalsCommunicates effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systemsPerforms other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

2-year Tech college or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience3+ years of relevant experience in user support and system administration preferably Windchill PLM.Strong understanding of Windchill application architecture(clustered).Familiarity navigating Windows/Linux server environments.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Able to bridge communication between technical areas and cross continents.Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as are preferredProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl), is a plusExperience with PTC Creo and other CAD tools is a plus.Basic Oracle knowledge is a plusExperience with supporting integrations between PLM and ERP/MES/Learning management Systems is a plus

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
