Who knows where our shared journey will take you? **Transform the everyday with us!** As an intern with the **Electrification and Automation (EA)** division of **Siemens Smart Infrastructure** , you’ll gain **hands-on experience** supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a **collaborative, impact-driven environment** . **We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Systems Engineering Internship beginning in May or June 2026. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.** **You’ll make an impact by:** + Supporting the design and testing of retrofit circuit breaker mounting arrangements. + Creating and updating 3D models of legacy switchgear cubicles and producing 2D drawings for prototype and vendor-supplied parts. + Scanning components for dimensional analysis and qualifying prototype parts ahead of type testing. + Supporting rapid prototyping efforts, including 3D printing fixtures and assisting with prototype assembly. + Participating in hands-on testing of new design concepts and documenting results. **You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026. + Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship. + Prior experience as a Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation intern. + Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support. + Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with 3D modeling or drafting tools (NX or SolidWorks). + Exposure to 2D drafting for vendor or prototype parts. + Familiarity with measuring or metrology techniques. + Coursework in statics; heat transfer coursework is a plus. + Ability to communicate technical information across disciplines. + Interest in hands-on prototyping and testing. **About Siemens:** We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
