For Boehringer IT, the Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer will partner with IT team members and meet with the client community to assist with the delivery and implementation of underlying technology solutions in support of business objectives to improve productivity and enhance processes. Responsibilities will primarily be baseline operational support, administrative and maintenance duties, and participation in technology projects. This role is based in our Ridgefield, Ct office with employees working at least 2-3 days on site to support the business.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ As a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer you understand and implement Archiving demands from our stakeholders.
+ With your excellent service orientation, you will work directly with IT business partners from various business units globally consulting them on the use of our solutions.
+ Optimize ever changing processes through automatization, digitalization, visualization, analysis, and adaptation.
+ Manage escalations from the business & application teams using your knowledge and expertise with technology to deliver resolutions.
+ Coordinate and support the whole System Life Cycle (conception, planning, implementation, and maintenance) for global IT Archiving solutions together with a highly motivated team.
+ Additional tasks and responsibilities include leveraging the automation framework in Boehringer to promote further automation and propose and implement solutions addressing IT and business needs.
**Requirements**
**_Sr. Systems Engineer_**
Associate degree in Computer Science or MIS with a minimum of 4 years experience; or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or MIS, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience; or a Master degree in Computer Science, MIS, with minimum 1 year of experience; or relevant Business or IT experience of minimum of 4 years.
**_Principal Systems Engineer_**
Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field with 7 years experience; or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field with 5 years of experience; or a Master in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or relevant Business or IT experience of a minimum of 7 years.
+ Strong team player with a high willingness to learn and develop, who enjoys working in an international and intercultural environment.
+ Strong communicator with experience collaborating with customers and vendors.
+ Knowledge in administration of operating systems (Windows and Linux Server) including installation, configuration of software and administration of user accounts/permission management. Windows or Linux experience required.
+ Knowledge of the system and service processes of an IT organization (e.g. ITIL)
+ Knowledge of automation frameworks like AWS or other Infrastructure as Code tools and knowledge and experience in scripting languages a plus (Python, batch, PowerShell) a plus.
+ Knowledge of tools like Service Now, O365/PowerApps and XM Qualtrics to improve the overall user experience of our capabilities.
