The qualified applicant will support a United States Space Command agency in the development and execution of system management responsibilities. The applicant will ensure the successful design, installation, configuration, testing, security, and maintenance of all classified networks and will ensure all systems are operating at maximum efficiency in a secure environment. The applicant will also contribute to the planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations.

Our team is looking for a Systems Engineer to focus on the development, security, and administration of a wide variety of systems and environments. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring software and hardware releases to classified environments. You will also be responsible for maintaining these systems, configuring operating systems and software products, as well as installing required software patches and security updates for the systems. In addition, you will provide support by resolving system problems, creating and troubleshooting accounts, providing system backups, and performing system maintenance. Familiarity with DevSecOps culture, automation, and platform design will greatly help your integration into the team. You will have the opportunity to participate in the delivery and support for real-world, cutting-edge systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.

The qualified candidate must have strong communication and troubleshooting skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Due to the need to support classified work, this position requires the successful candidate to work on-site at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA or in Colorado Springs, CO. This position requires regular travel as part of the job duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Support, install and configure Government Furnished Equipment at CONUS and OCONUS sites; at least 25% travel requiredCoordinate system and network deployments with sites’ security managers, users, and onsite personnel at military installationsSupport common Operating Systems (e.g., Windows Server/Workstation, Linux) and address complex technical problems and provide innovative solutionsAssist with cybersecurity penetration testing, applying STIGs and patching systems; support ATO packagesCross train into new technical disciplines as mission requirements dictate and mentor others who are doing the same where appropriateTroubleshoot and resolve technical problems across different disciplines (account management, operating systems, networks, cybersecurity

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent and at least eight years of relevant experience; six years of additional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degreeAbility to evaluate physical, electronic, and operational security measures to meet stringent SCIF requirementsExperience with client account management support (e.g., Windows Active Directory, GPO, Exchange server, DNS, application upgrades)Expertise in logistics, configuration management, and ITEC account custodian with a strong understanding of DoD procurement processAdvanced knowledge in configuring and managing various hardware environments and platforms as well as ensuring the system security posture is maintainedProven customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize efficiency of IT systemsDevelop architecture diagrams, network diagrams, rack elevation diagrams etc. and generate associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks in an individual and/or team environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative environmentMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quicklyAbility to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing prioritiesActive Top Secret is preferred with SCI eligibility is required to startPossess a DoD 8140.03/8570.01 Information Assurance Technical II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract

Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $217,400.00
