About the role

This is a unique opportunity for a systematic, creative, and experienced individual to make a big impact on Gartner’s client experience as part of Gartner Digital Workplace Solutions. We are looking for a results-driven, self-motivated problem solver who can lead the development of the platform’s search capability. As Systems Engineer, you will guide and mentor others and identify opportunities to innovate and drive value.

What you’ll do:

Support and troubleshoot a global fleet of corporate and personal iOS, Android and macOS devicesManage all escalated incidents via Service Now and distribute to teamAdminister Mac/Mobile devices with an MDM/UEM platform (ex: Workspace ONE, Intune) across a global footprintTest, configure and implement iOS, Android, macOS apps, profiles and policiesManage Apple devices with Apple Business Manager (formerly DEP, VPP)Package custom XML/.plists for device configuration on macOSDevelop and deploy macOS scripts using various shells/languages (ex: Bash, Zsh, Swift, Powershell, python)Maintain source control of developed scripts in Git/BitbucketPackage macOS software with using tools like pkgbuild, productbuild, PatchMyPCPatch OS updates for Mac/Mobile fleet on regular cadenceEvaluate and improve digital experience for associates leveraging DEX toolsLeverage UEM/MDM to drive business solutions across business units at GartnerDevelop and maintain test plans and architecture diagrams around the Mac/Mobile spaceDevelop and maintain metrics/reports using various tools (PowerBI, Splunk)Commitment to documentationMitigate security threats/vulnerabilities in collaboration with the Security team for Mac/MobileStay abreast of platform/MDM best practicesWork with the team to coach Gartner's internal Help Desk via email communications, videos, virtual training sessions, and the creation/maintenance of knowledgebase articles and support documentationWork within ITIL Change Management process to shepherd planned changesParticipate with and maintain vendor relationshipsEvaluate new technologies and hardware related to Mac/mobile space for use in the corporate environmentIntegrate and maintain MDM/UEM platform with IDPs like Okta, Ping, etc.

What you’ll need:

4+ years of experience with macOS, iOS and Android devices in a corporate environment

       Must have:

Development or scripting background strongly preferredExperience using web services such as REST APIs for integration and automationBasic web development skills (HTML, CSS, etc.) a plusExcellent oral and written communication skills.High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skillsExcellent problem solving/analytical skills.Must be able to read and understand technical documentationPassionate about Apple and Android technologies with a desire to be engaged with the space as it evolvesFunctional knowledge of Exchange and O365 environmentsWorking knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, firewall, VPN clientsFamiliarity with Agile methodology (scrum) and JiraMust be able to multi-task, change direction, set priorities, and meet deadlinesDependable and available to work early or late to meet deadlines when requiredMust be able to positively contribute to a team environment and collaborate with cross functional teamsMust be able to work with minimal supervisionApple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) a plusVMware Certified Professional – Digital Workspace a plusLegacy AirWatch accreditations or other MDM specific certifications (Jamf, etc.) a plus.
