Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to assist with the installation, configuration, implementation and maintenance of third party hardware or system software utilities. Participate in project designs and upgrades of hardware or software systems as assigned. 
 

Here’s what you’ll do: 

Assist with the installation, configuration, implementation and maintenance of third party hardware or system software utilities. Assist with monitoring, testing and troubleshooting issues for assigned systems hardware or software as appropriate. 

Implement timely upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches for assigned systems hardware or software. Recommend and execute modifications to improve efficiency, reliability and performance of infrastructure systems. 

Participate in project designs and upgrades of hardware or software systems. Conduct research in support of procurement or development efforts as assigned. 

Create and maintain system architecture and troubleshooting documentation, and user documentation for systems installed and/or created. 

Identify issues and resolves basic to semi-complex issues; work with senior level staff and other IT areas to ensure resolution of issues and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution. 

Work closely with various IT teams as necessary to support the hardware and software systems. 

Remain current with new technologies and systems engineer methodologies and protocols. 

Responsible to respond to system issues on a 7x24 basis and participate in an on-call rotation. 

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

Here's what you’ll need: 

Requires basic knowledge of computer hardware architecture and operating systems in a multi-system environment.  

Good written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; good customer service skills.  

Good analytical, problem solving/troubleshooting, decision-making, and attention to detail skills needed.  

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and escalate issues when needed, ability to shift priorities as business needs. Must participate in an on-call rotation. 

Desktop Support Engineer: administer and support wide verities of hardware and software client facing devices such as laptops, desktops, thin clients. In depth knowledge of Windows Client Operating Systems (XP and 7). Must have previous support experience with Citrix XenApp. Experience with WSUS, Altiris and Antivirus software.  

Clear understanding of the fundamentals of Desktop imaging process.  

Experience supporting mobile devices including Androids, iPhones and iPads. Administer and support enterprise Desktop and Printer infrastructure.  

Work very closely with Citrix, Intel, and Network engineering team to assist with any support or operational needs.  

Work with Infrastructure engineering team to conduct ongoing testing and updates for related systems.  

Plan and implement timely upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches to the operating systems, applications and hardware.  

Provide support for large changes during after-hours and weekends.  

Use Active Directory and Group Policy to manage user’s access and account information.  

Experience with supporting Lotus Notes and printer hardware is preferred.
