Systems Engineer IV

Are you ready to support and evolve next generation wireless infrastructure? As a System Engineer IV 5G HMNO (RAN & CORE), you will lead engineering activities across implementation and operations of 5G network systems. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, integrate, troubleshoot, and support 5G Core, RAN, and other platforms that power Spectrum Mobile services. This role ensures system reliability, performance, and scalability while driving continuous improvements across the HMNO network.


How You’ll Make an Impact

Design, implement, integrate, configure, troubleshoot, and support 5G HMNO systems across Core, RAN, and Spectrum Mobile environmentsLead deployment activities including configuration, validation, and integration of network elementsMonitor network performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issuesSupport day to day operations including incident response, root cause analysis, and service restorationAnalyze and optimize system performance, capacity, and reliability to meet service level objectivesDevelop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational proceduresProvide technical guidance and support to regional and cross functional teamsParticipate in on call rotation to ensure continuous support for critical wireless infrastructureDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation, monitoring, and operational efficiencyEnsure compliance with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements

Working Conditions

Hybrid office environment with after hours support as part of on call rotation

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAbility to use personal computer and software applications Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix) Infrastructure knowledge (Raw Iron, Steel Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack, AWS)Ability to work in a team environment In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as VisioAbility to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quicklyAbility to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculatorAbility to use personal computer and software applications Knowledge of Microsoft OfficeGeneral knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures
EducationBachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications

Experience

6+ System or Server Administration5+ years of experience in wireless network engineering or telecommunicationsHands-on experience with 5G technologies, including Core and/or RAN environmentsExperience supporting production network environments from deployment through operations

Skills

Strong understanding of 5G architecture including Core (AMF, SMF, UPF) and RAN componentsKnowledge of wireless technologies including LTE, 5G NR, and CBRSUnderstanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, OSI model)Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis toolsDemonstrable ability to perform incident management support and detemine root cause analysisFamiliarity with ticketing systems and operational workflowsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across teamsProficiency with standard engineering tools and documentation platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Education / Certifications

Industry certifications (e.g., 5G, Cisco, Nokia, Ericsson, AWS, or equivalent)
SkillsExperience with HMNO environments or large-scale mobile network operatorsKnowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.)Familiarity with cloud-native 5G Core architectures and virtualization technologiesUnderstanding of Spectrum Mobile products and services

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
