About This Role
The Uncrewed Land and Air Systems team in Hunt Valley is seeking a passionate and skilled Systems Engineer to join our team to work on innovative products in our ground robotics domain. Our team is engaged in multiple cutting-edge development programs for defense applications, and we are looking for engineers who are eager to apply a diverse set of technologies and skills to create indispensable robotic solutions. This interdisciplinary role involves supporting the full life cycle development of our products, including new product development, product upgrades, payload design, integration and test, and fielding solutions for military and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, and working successfully within a collaborative team environment. A strong desire to take ownership of design efforts to ensure the integration of new technology into our vehicles is essential.
Responsibilities:
•Engineering Design and Development:
oLead full-lifecycle engineering design and development activities on established and disruptive new products.
oWork across engineering disciplines to develop conceptual designs that solve complex problems.
oPerform requirements analysis and derivation to understand customer needs.
oDevelop architecture models utilizing SysML to support requirements development and derivation.
oUse requirements management and test tools to decompose program requirements.
•Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
oDevelop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools.
oUtilize SysML for creating and managing system architecture models.
oIntegrate MBSE practices into the overall systems engineering process to improve design, analysis, and verification activities.
oCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure MBSE models accurately represent system requirements and design.
•Systems Integration and Testing:
oLead hands-on integration of components and subsystems into Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and/or Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs).
oDevelop integration test plans and procedures to verify product integration.
oPerform analysis of data extracted from testing.
oDefine methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements.
•Collaboration and Communication:
oPrepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
oInteract daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers.
oCollaborate with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and with customers.
•Project Management and Technical Direction:
oParticipate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.
oProvide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems.
oManage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s)
oAssist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.

Qualifications
•Education and Experience:
oBachelor's Degree in Engineering with 6 years of related experience (systems or test engineering preferred)
OR
oMaster’s Degree in Engineering with 2 year(s) of related experience.
•Technical Skills:
oExperience with hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, or architecture design.
oExperience with systems engineering, MBSE, and modeling software.
oExperience with requirements management and analysis.
oExperience with a broad array of engineering tools/languages including MATLAB Simulink, Cameo/No Magic Products, JIRA, and/or SysML.
oExperience documenting logical or physical designs using drawing tools (e.g., Visio, PowerPoint, Cameo/MagicDraw) to depict systems, subsystems, interfaces, components, and communications.
oExperience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment is preferred.
oExperience or certifications in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) (i.e., OCSMP Certification) is a plus.
•Soft Skills:
oEffective and efficient writing and presentation skills.
oExcellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with others.
oDemonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
oA good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
•Other Requirements:
oAbility to travel up to 25%.
oActive Secret Clearance preferred; Secret Clearance eligibility required.
