The Systems Engineer II position at Cleveland Clinic offers a compelling opportunity for experienced professionals to play a pivotal role in the design and support of enterprise infrastructure platform systems centered around vulnerability management. In this senior-level role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders, including application owners, project managers, and Senior Platform Engineers, to align platform and technical strategies with the organization's business vision and objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive research, design, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies. As a Systems Engineer II, you will be accountable for ensuring the stability, integrity, and optimal performance of enterprise server, storage, and data center infrastructure systems. This will involve proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all hardware and operating systems, driving the seamless operation of critical IT infrastructure. 

 

A caregiver in this position works remotely out of Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Designs, engineers and implements systems infrastructure. 

Installs and maintains operating systems and related management and reporting software. 

Proactively manages and monitors enterprise systems environment. 

Troubleshoots and resolves problems in the systems environment. 

Maintains currency, stability and security in the enterprise systems infrastructure. 

Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues. 

Assists in the development and execution of strategic and tactical technical project plans in coordination with and support of the PMO. 

Participates in proof-of-concept studies of new technologies that may position the enterprise infrastructure platforms to grow and modernize in alignment with enterprise strategic plans. 

Develops working relationships with server, storage, cloud and network software and hardware vendors, work groups and installation teams. 

Creates and maintains infrastructure platform configuration standards, SOPs and guidelines according to industry and vendor best practices. 

Assists in the production of management reports and presentations on capacity, performance, and system health. 

Contributes to the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans in order to recover critical enterprise data and operational systems at remote locations. 

Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and five years of experience in information systems design, configuration and management OR nine years of experience 

For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of the position start date. 

Must have the ability to work well with others and be able to express ideas and concepts clearly. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Technical vendor hardware/software (Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco, NetApp, Dell/EMC, etc.) certifications preferred. 

Experience implementing and managing solutions in various cloud vendors is preferred.   

7 years of enterprise level experience in a technical position responsible for implementing, configuring and managing enterprise server, storage or infrastructure environments. 

2 years of enterprise level experience in information systems design, including leading design implementations, required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. 

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
