We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate technical leader to fill Systems Engineer position overseeing a mission critical system. Candidate will work hand in hand with DevOPS engineers and Developers to complex Systems Software work risk free and continuously in a production environment. Our systems engineer responsible for monitoring, automating and improving reliability, performance and availability across the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++ or Ruby.Excellent programming skills to ensure the proper interpretation and implementation of production code deliveries.Experience with infrastructure orchestration and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) and container orchestration technologies. Associated tools: (CloudFormation, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker and Amazon ECS)Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.)Documented experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous deliveryIdentify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issuesDocumented experience implementing monitoring and alerting best practices within a cloud native environment. Associated tools: (CloudWatch, Icinga)Comfortable managing release procedures for a production environment and optimizing release practices to a fully automated practice.Candidate must be able to collaborate and communicate asynchronously with a passion for solving complex problems.Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies.Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.Location: Herndon, VAHours: Contract core hours 9-3, after-hours standby rotationSecurity Clearance: TS/SCI with PolygraphUS Citizenship Required
