Overview

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning and maintenance of systems hardware and software within our extensive infrastructure. Systems Engineers participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. They ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and the company for future growth.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Azure services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to support our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Operations and SupportManage open projects and update status on a regular basisProvide Tier III escalation support for end users through the helpdesk phone queue and Ticketing systemPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobsRepair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituenciesTrack all activities within the ticketing system for proper change management controlEngineering and ProvisioningDesign and Implementation: Develop and deploy scalable and secure Azure-based solutions to meet the company's IT infrastructure needsSystem Administration: Manage and maintain Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking componentsMonitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliabilitySecurity Management: Ensure the security of IT systems by implementing best practices, conducting regular audits, and addressing vulnerabilitiesCollaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to provide technical support and solutions that align with business objectivesDocumentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policiesFollow detailed engineering documents to plan, configure, and install network and computer equipment into new facilities that are plannedEnsure that hardware for new facilities is purchased, delivered, and configured to meet the schedule of the facilityInstall new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirementsDevelop and maintain installation and configuration procedures within standard document repositoryContribute to and maintain system standardsResearch and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasksConfigure and modify the remote monitoring software for ideal alerting for failures and warnings to increase company uptime


Things We Are Looking For

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experienceAzure Administrator or similar Associate level certificate

Server and Storage Administration

Microsoft Server Vast experience with Microsoft Group Policies and Active Directory Windows PowerShell and other scripting methodsDNS, DHCP, RDS, Certificate Services, FSRM, NPS, RadiusMicrosoft O365 and Azure CloudExperience with O365 products and Microsoft licensing modelsExperience with Azure Active DirectoryKnowledge of Azure connectivity servicesVirtualization and StorageVMWare, Hyper-V, and other virtualization technologiesStorage solutions: SAN, NAS, Shared Storage, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and Hyper-Convergence

Preferred Skills & Abilities
