Systems Engineer
Description Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, and modeling for edge computing platforms in avionics or similarly complex domains. This role is critical to shaping the foundational system design and ensuring alignment with mission-critical national security objectives. Key Responsibilities • Lead requirements elicitation and negotiation with stakeholders, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and traceability across the system lifecycle. • Develop and maintain system architecture for edge computing platforms, integrating hardware, software, and networking components. • Model system behavior and structure using industry-standard tools (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo) to support design decisions and validate requirements. • Perform requirements flow-down from high-level mission needs to subsystem specifications, ensuring alignment with compliance and certification standards. • Collaborate with integration and validation teams to ensure architectural integrity and performance. • Support NSA certification efforts by aligning system architecture with security and compliance requirements. • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies to guide technical direction. Skills requirements gathering, negotiation, system architecture, cameo, mbse Top Skills Details requirements gathering,negotiation,system architecture Additional Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications • Active Top Secret Security Clearance. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in avionics, defense, or high-reliability embedded systems. • Strong background in networking systems, protocols, and secure architectures. • Experience with system modeling tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo). • Familiarity with NSA certification processes and security compliance frameworks. Preferred Skills • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux. • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure system design. • Experience with MIL-STD, DO-178C, or similar standards. • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
