**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Systems Engineer** to join our team in **Patuxent River, MD** . This is an **onsite** position. This role supports **NAVAIR’s Systems Engineering Department (SED)** . SED is a key part of NAVAIR’s efforts to acquire and sustain naval aviation capabilities and plays a crucial role in the development, testing, and support of naval aircraft and weapons systems. This is an opportunity to be part of an organization that plays a crucial role in keeping our nation’s warfighters safe and mission successful. **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Applying programmatic and technical expertise to identify, design, and test practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools throughout the systems development process + Overseeing software acquisition, managing requirements, and optimizing software workflows + Conducting research, development, analysis, and documentation of technologies in support of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems Acquisition + Evaluating the technical performance, mission suitability, and acquisition risks of aircraft, weapon, and integrated systems throughout the full acquisition process and program lifecycle **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university + 3+ years of recent, relevant experience + Demonstrated experience in an engineering discipline + Ability to translate software requirements into system-level requirements **Preferred Qualifications:** + Prior experience with Navy aircraft and/or weapons systems. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must have an active Secret security clearance. **Physical Requirements:** + Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC. + Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
