Systems Engineer
Job Title: Systems Engineer III
Job Description

The Systems Engineer III is responsible for conducting customer requirements analysis, developing solutions, and designing and implementing advanced real-time software and hardware systems for operator and maintenance training devices. This role includes mentoring lower-level System Engineers.

ResponsibilitiesGenerate requirements traceability matrix from customer specifications or statements of work.Review requirements and create architectural solutions based on comprehensive hardware and software knowledge.Analyze, design, and implement real-time software and hardware systems for training devices.Attend and brief project status and engineering issues at Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events and In-Progress Reviews (IPR), recording discrepancies as Action Items.Collaborate with the engineering team and management to ensure budget, timeline, and scope requirements are met.Perform testing at customer sites and early testing on pre-release products.Develop technical proposals and respond to Sources Sought, RFPs, and RFIs with the marketing team, ensuring technical accuracy and professionalism.Create training device documentation to meet CDRL requirements.Mentor lower-level Systems Engineers.Handle government-furnished equipment and materials safely.Available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsIn-depth understanding of simulation hardware and software.Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.Excellent writing and presentation skills.Ability to establish priorities and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.Ability to respond to tasks and mentorship from engineering managers or advanced Systems Engineers.Capability to obtain security clearance if required by the contract.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in an engineering major and five years of experience in systems engineering.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with seven years of experience in systems engineering.High school diploma or equivalent and eleven years of experience in systems engineering.Advanced degree in engineering preferred.Work Environment

The role requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, with flexible shifts available from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
