Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer, Eng II-Cyber Security Engineer (P2) to join our elite Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team in developing solutions to protect the Warfighter’s technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Cyber Security, Software Assurance, and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems. Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters. This is an on-site position at Raytheon in Woburn, MA.

What You Will Do

Implement proper cybersecurity controls

Interact with customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness

Maintain a Risk Management Framework Authorization to Operate for the system

Support developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans

Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems

Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues

Define security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component

Integrate cybersecurity development activities

Developing top-level system requirements, and flowing down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystem

Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets, using DoD approved scanning and assessment tools such as ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker or Evaluate STIG

Understanding and compliance with DoD technology release and export licensing policies

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience

Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Experience in Cybersecurity Engineering

Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with cybersecurity toolsets including anti-virus, vulnerability scanning (Tenable Nessus/ACAS), HIDS/NIDS, host-based or endpoint security solutions (e.g. Trellix/ePO/ESS), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools (familiarity with Splunk or QRadar)

Experience in generating Cyber Security and/or program protection requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies

Security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand-alone and in LAN/WAN configurations

DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent)

Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by DoD or Intelligence agencies

Experience implementing DISA STIGs on various operating systems

Experience with IT and/or network and system security administration, including building virtual machines, operating system security configuration, and account management best practices for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco systems

Linux Bash scripting and Python scripting experience

Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation

Familiar with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37

Familiar with Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39

Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter expert

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
