Systems Engineer, Calibration
**Summary:** Meta Reality Labs is helping more people around the world come together and connect through world-class Wearable and Mixed Reality hardware and software. We are committed to driving the state of the art forward through consistent innovation. We believe that the Metaverse and AI-first Wearable devices have an immense potential to change the world — and we’re just getting started. Our XR Tech organization team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future MR and Wearables products. From blending virtual and real world experiences to natural inputs to rich virtual content generation, XR Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.As a Systems Engineer for Calibration, you will develop calibration equipment, test and characterize it, as well as defining the calibration procedure. You will work closely with teams developing novel sensors, silicon, and integrated products to guarantee successful calibration and establish clear interfaces and quality gates. You will drive the definition of system requirements originating from calibration needs and represent this analysis within the wider organization, influencing the design of sensing and compute architectures for next generation MR and Wearable devices. **Required Skills:** Systems Engineer, Calibration Responsibilities: 1. Develop calibration, test and characterization equipment for optical components and subsystems 2. Develop specifications, procedures, and debug guides for calibration solutions 3. Drive cross-functional decisions on development and architecture for calibration through system level testing 4. Autonomously troubleshoot and debug calibration systems and automation solutions from a software and hardware perspective 5. Coordinate third-party integrators in designing, developing and fabricating calibration systems 6. Support lab and factory bring up of calibration stations, including on-site support at crucial project phases **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 7. BSc/MSc/PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related experience 8. Experience working on applied research and/or product development involving joint hardware/software design, development, and integration 9. Expertise or education in project management and cross-functional partnerships 10. Track record of software development following software engineering best practices 11. Experience in designing and operating robotic systems 12. 6+ years of relevant experience **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 13. Knowledge of optics including imaging, illumination, radiometry and photometry, physical and geometric optics, statistics, and polarization 14. Experience with multi-sensor fusion (cameras, depth sensors, inertial sensors, stereo imaging) and system calibration 15. Experience with structure and assembly of optical systems (cameras, lens systems, digital imaging systems and/or display OLED/LCD panels) 16. Experience in statistical methods for data analytics 17.
