Join an experienced and collaborative team of Engineers and Scientists in New Product Development for Pathology Products at Roche Diagnostics. As the Agile Release Train (ART) Lead for Systems Engineering within the SAFe Agile framework you lead and direct a team in shaping the Pathology Lab of the future. The Opportunity:
Be an inspiring leader of a project team of engineers and scientists to achieve project scope, quality, timeline goals, and remove roadblocks.
Drive the team structure and delivery of an Agile Release Train (ART) with multiple scrum teams within the ART, utilizing the SAFe Agile framework to deliver impactful solutions.
Manage the ART team backlog and collaborate with Solution Train Engineer (STE) to develop project level backlog to provide predictable project plans and lead ART level agile ceremonies.
Overall accountable for ART specific deliverables that meet the solution team defined needs.
Oversee all execution and administrative aspects of an ART, with a focus on system development and engineering, and develop strong interfaces to other ARTs focused on different domains such as software and assay.
Collaborate with ART architects and technical leads to drive technical rigor to deliver high quality reliable systems to meet customer needs.
Coordinate within and with other ARTs to manage scrum team dependencies and ART level dependencies.
Ensure the highest technical integrity of all project deliverables, adhering to applicable standards and the Roche Quality Management System, while continuously improving design and development processes and project best practices.
Use your creative problem-solving skills by applying advanced engineering and scientific principles to solve complex execution or technical problems.
Investigate the viability of new groundbreaking concepts, transforming ways of working to address critical challenges.
Maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and propose development strategies for cutting-edge trends and developments in your area of expertise.
Own the planning and vision of your ART, including ensuring completeness, consistency, and implementing it.
Collaborate and align with third-party development partners contributing to the project.
Partner closely with Project Leadership and Functional Management to plan all development deliverables, allocate team resources efficiently, and provide essential planning input.
Provide clear, regular, and impactful project updates to senior leadership.
Serve as the key representative for the Product Development ART in all project reviews and agile ceremonies.
Embrace further responsibilities as assigned by management, offering opportunities to broaden your skill set and contribute across various aspects of product development.
Who you are:
You are a BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Science or related field.
You are an experienced and inspirational leader of project teams.
You have 10 years of experience in System Engineering and/or System or Hardware Development experience
You deeply understand the PMI and SAFe Agile processes, team structures, roles, and responsibility.
You have a proven ability to establish or adapt project structures and processes for complex projects, driving efficiency and successful delivery.
You are adept at tackling complex problems, even when analysis requires evaluating intangible variables.
You can exercise independent judgment in developing effective methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
You demonstrate technical proficiency, engineering creativity, strong collaboration skills, and independent thought.
You have expert knowledge of system engineering principles and concepts relevant to IVD System development.
You can effectively communicate, present and discuss data, propose alternative action plans, and communicate recommendations across all levels of an organization.
You are a creative, innovative leader who contributes, communicates, and interacts productively with project teams, taking accountability for development milestones and budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
Practical experience in SAFe agile development for hardware
Practical experience in leading complex, multi-year projects
Experience developing and launching medical devices, in particular In-vitro diagnostics
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is 121,400- 225,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
