Systems Architect

Description:Lockheed Martin Space is looking for an innovative and experienced Systems Architect to support the team that designs, develops, fields and operates next-generation ground resilient space-based systems for a variety of national security mission partners. This a key role in the successful execution of activities of major significance to the nation's next-generation ground enterprise.

In this role, you will:

• Support the Space Development Agency (SDA) ground mission area with long-term planning, technology insertion plans, and architecture decisions
• Support the development and communication of the SDA ground architectural future
• Ensure assessment and conversion of mission needs/requirements into total SDA program tranche mission systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system
• Develop innovative ground mission systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition
• Support and stakeholder feedback to any related space ground IRADs within the portfolio
• Continuously translate architecture analysis into action plans and product development roadmaps
• Work with Enterprise Centers of Excellence, Supply Chain, and LOB leadership to translate mission and product roadmaps into technology investment and industry partnership decisions
• Support internal and external ground mission system design reviews
• Develop multi-domain solutions to the ground mission and work seamlessly to support both Line of Business and Business Development efforts
• Seek and maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies, design, and analysis methodologies
• Develop models and architectural guidelines for current and future ground mission system development
• Work with Business Development and Government Affairs to coordinate with the SDA customer environment, requirements and architectures
• Build successful teams with internal stakeholders, (Business Development and central Engineering), as well as with external stakeholders (suppliers, mission partners and USG laboratories.)
• US citizenship required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience performing in a Systems Architect role on a software ground development program
• Experience in the design or analysis of ground products and systems
• Familiarity with design tools and environments for ground systems
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts
• Ability and willingness to obtain LM Systems Architect certification within 12 months of starting in this role
• Active TS/SCI access, with prior polygraph
Desired Skills:
• Experience with ground products (i.e. Horizon, Compass, etc)
• Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• Experience with cloud-based systems and architectures
• Experience with cybersecurity and information assurance principles and practices
• Experience performing in a Systems Architect role on a large and complex DoD/IC space software development efforts
• Experience with space-based ground systems
• Experience applying MBSE concepts in a Systems Engineer or Systems Architect role
• Current LM Systems Architect certification, at the Qualified level or higher
• Prior SAP access

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
