Job Description:
As a Systems Architect at Parsons, you will be responsible for leading enterprise data strategy and architecture initiatives for mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) programs. You will work closely with our partners as well as data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data-driven strategies are effective and aligned with our organizational goals.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design and implement enterprise data architecture for DoD systems with a focus on AWS cloud-native solutions
Develop secure, compliant data integration and warehousing solutions across classified and unclassified environments
Lead data modeling initiatives for structured and unstructured data using DoD-compliant best practices (e.g., DoDAF)
Architect and oversee migration of legacy systems and data platforms into the AWS GovCloud or IL5/IL6-compliant environments
Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT teams and project managers.
Conduct regular assessments and audits of existing systems to identify areas for improvement
Document and communicate architectural plans and strategies to stakeholders at all levels
Participate in project planning and provide technical input to ensure successful project execution
Serve as a mentor and SME across multiple programs and stakeholders, promoting data strategy alignment across DoD initiatives
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
A minimum of 8+ years of experience in data architecture, integration, modeling, and warehousing in secure or classified environments
Proven expertise in AWS cloud services, especially in secure environments (GovCloud, IL5/IL6 workloads)
Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale IT systems
Strong knowledge of cloud computing, virtualization, and network architecture
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
