**Job Description**
_BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a Systems and Operations Engineer III_ _supporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation._ The use of current software and technology in these efforts is critical to the success of the government and its ability to support personnel, operations, and the whole of the customer mission. Given the rapidly changing IT infrastructure, trends in digital forensics and media exploitation, and the operations supported by this this customer, it is critical that they have access to technical experts that possess and stay abreast of, among other things, the latest information on enterprise IT support and services, security alerts, and future technologies. This customer is always looking at new technology to aid in its delivery of mission essential services. They are exploring how they will transition into Cloud technology and require IT engineering, and administrative skills that have familiarity with cloud technology or solutions.
The SOE III shall be responsible for the architecture of the server environment, as well as plan for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of several hundred servers used in a real-time 24/7/365 configuration. The SOE III is expected to be able to develop a methodology for evaluating system health, using enterprise tools (e.g., Forema, Ansible, SaltStack). The SOE III shall work to lead a team of other system, SAN, and network engineers to keep the current operational system secure and up-to-date while also planning for new data centers that may be necessary. The SOE III is expected to find ways to automate tasks (such as checking server health, available disk space, and ensuring all necessary critical processes are running) by using monitoring tools and scripting languages. The SOE III shall be responsible for the overall health and operation of the system and is expected to respond to emergency calls when critical infrastructure has failed or is unresponsive. The SOE III shall troubleshoot with other team members to identify the issue and put in motion steps to resolve.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Minimum Education:Four (4) year college degree in an electrical engineering or computer engineering field, plus four (4) year of systems engineering experience, or in lieu of education seven (7) years of experience in the systems engineering field as detailed above. If utilizing in lieu of education, all experience must be at or above the position level described above.
Minimum General Experience:
a. Multiple programming languages necessary to meet a diverse set of requirements. The Contractor must be familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems. Examples of relevant computer programming languages currently used to design and deploy components include, but are not limited to:
1. Vsphere/Vsan o Python o Linux (Ubuntu) o Docker o Kubernetes o ElasticSearch
2. Structured Query Language (SQL) o Extensible Markup Language (XML)
3. Web Services Description Language (WSDL)
4. HTML
5. JavaScript o The SOE III shall have mastery of the of Linux operating systems.
6. The SOE III shall understand enterprise-level software resources and how to best use them to accomplish the mission.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud experience highly desired. Specifically experience deploying services to AWS cloud.
+ Experience working on digital forensics technology or related technologies for law enforcement or intelligence community customers is a plus

**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
