SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architecturesTroubleshoots system hardware and software issuesEducates end users on the proper use of hardware and softwarePerforms basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packagesMonitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levelsEnsures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutionsEnsure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operationsConducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesEnsures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network usersMay evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategiesMay program in administrative languagesMaintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.Participates in special projects as required.5+ years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.Active Directory Account ManagementWindows Server 2012/2016Windows 10 and 11 troubleshooting and OS deploymentApplication troubleshooting - Outlook; Excel; Word; JAVA; Internet ExplorerMECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)) experience is a plusMS Exchange experience is a plus

 

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

 Must possess an appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) -Security. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is the preferred certification. In addition, candidate must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Training within six (6) months of Hire Date.

As part of your role/function on the program; you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring; and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.
