Organization and Role Overview:

Lilly is entering an exciting and outstanding period of growth. The Manufacturing and Quality (MQ) Tech at Lilly organization is engaged in an exciting phase of transformation as we drive our Digital Plant vision across Lilly manufacturing at the same time supporting unprecedented growth in Lilly’s manufacturing operation across the world.

This position provides support in the area of computerized instruments, systems and databases. Assists in the selection, implementation, and maintenance of computerized systems. Authors and reviews computer system administration procedures and policies. Serves as technical lead on system implementation and validation projects and serves as a technical representative on project teams. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and resolution of computerized system issues. Coordinates implementation and support activities across IT infrastructure and Global application support groups. Identifies compliance issues related to computerized systems and implements effective resolutions.

This role will collaborate with global Tech at Lilly teams to meet goals for both current and anticipated future needs for new and existing technologies, practices and initiatives.


Responsibilities:

Provide lab management and system administration/engineering input to the Installation Design Plan to support configuration management, testing, and Qualification, Validation of proposed systemsProvide lab management and system administration/engineering support focusing on the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of lab management and testing servicesDesigning, installing, provisioning, configuring, optimizing, performance tuning, integrating, and administering various solution technologies in a lab environmentSupporting the installation of new lab technology componentsParticipate in lab systems planning in support of development, integration, test and deployment activitiesProvide quality, timely ongoing support, troubleshooting and maintenance of computerized systems. Anticipate and resolve sophisticated problems, including daily technical support to system users.Assist the business with the selection and implementation of computerized systems, as well as upgrades to existing systems.Translate functional requirements into high-level designs for input into configuration and/or technical specification of related system(s).  Produce functional specifications and perform system testing to ensure that solution meets the stated requirements. Build/configure/develop and test custom-built or commercial off-the-shelf solutions within the specified timelines. Drive solutions for products, processes, and services across the associated business areas.Participate in end user testing for projects and processes. Provide resolution for defects and coordinate with appropriate resources as necessary. Collaborate on problem resolution, team decisions, and project planning.Serve as a technical lead for the initiation and management of change controls related to supported computer systems. Serve as a key resource within a business area or discipline. Gain support for ideas or positions on difficult issuesCollaborates cross functionally as a key team member in implementing and upgrading software applications for system management, compliance, and data integrity Partners with Computer System Validation (CSV), IT, QC, and QA to ensure data integrity best practices are aligned and followedEnsure that validated computerized systems are maintained in a manner compliant with corporate and regulatory requirements (including 21 CFR Part 11).Identify compliance issues and process improvements related to the ongoing administration of computerized systems, implementing effective resolutions.Work independently to draft/review system administration procedures and policiesStay active and current in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas of focus by participating in external forums, conferences, and other venues as necessary.

What You Should Bring:

Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.Extensive experience leading change, communication and training efforts for multiple global, complex technology implementations.Stay active and current in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas of focus by participating in external forums, conferences, and other venues as necessary.Ensure that the technology solutions being implemented are compliant with all relevant regulations (i.e. 21 CFR Part 11, Sarbanes Oxley, GxP, privacy data practices, local and corporate policies).Desire to establish and maintain relationships with all levels across the company and external partners.Stay active and current in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas of focus by participating in external forums, conferences, and other venues as necessary.Experience in health care, pharma, manufacturing or life sciences is a plus.

Basic Requirements:

BS/BA in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field required5+ years IT experience, supporting applications in a regulated environment.4+ years in the Life Sciences industry.Must maintain excellent working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations (e.g. cGMP’s, 21 CFR Part 11, Computers Systems FDA) and other applicable regulations (e.g. Privacy, OSHA, etc.) related to laboratory and/or manufacturing environment and system applications.3+ years basic understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL, etc.) and operating systems (Windows, etc.).

Additional Skills/Preferences:

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$70,500 - $159,500

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
