HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, As a Systems Administrator, you will work closely with both on-site and remote users to coordinate site visits and upgrades, provide on-site and remote resolution support for trouble calls, and provide TIER 2/3 support of Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including Web servers, network attached storage devices, and stored data in support of business processing requirements.
Core Hours: 0600-1800, Monday - Friday (new hire will be slotted somewhere within these hours during the week)
Job Duties:
Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure including managing servers, ensuring system availability and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.Oversees the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.Manages the Active Directory, and other core IT services.Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots moderate to complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.Develops, manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services. Participates in disaster recover drills and business continuity planning.Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software and system related issues.Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.Provides recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience.Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hireTS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI PolyUNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administrationExperience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such as Security+Ability to respond to after hour calls “provide on-call support"***There will be rotating weekend shifts required once per month. Shift hours are 6AM - 6PM Saturday & Sunday ***Ability to travel 0-20% to local area sites as well as other locations with similar architecture/footprint.Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Physical Requirements:
The employee will need to be able to lift/move/carry equipment as necessary (max 40 pounds)
Desired Skills:
Experience in the imagery intelligence domain a plusAbility to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and SolarissystemsKnowledge of the Customer's processes and procedures and of the Customer's production systems a plusAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Ability to function as a team member and independentlyPrefer skills in one or more of the following: Window Server, Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris,Sybase, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production ChainGeneral knowledge of database administration, network administration and possessnetwork configuration management skills.Must have a valid US passportLocation: Customer Site
