Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Senior. As part of our deployment information technology team, you will assist in the standing up of the GO/CO CO/CO environments that will enable early product deployments that contribute to the projects Minimum Viable Product (MVP). You will be responsible for providing expertise in the formulation of systems’ scopes, and database management of legacy and cloud-based systems. You will be required to carry out traditional System Administrator duties as well to include account creation and overall system health of our development environments. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, Government customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure.

Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloudHandle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and security of all VMs and servicesAdminister user and service accounts for cleared personnelManage access permissions according to the least privilege principlesIntegrate systems with Azure Active Directory or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and multi-factor authenticationPerform regular system updates and security patchesValidate that all system changes meet compliance requirements (applying DISA STIGs or hardening guidelines to each server)Utilize automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell scripts to streamline repetitive admin tasks (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations)Monitor system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage and event logs via Azure Monitor or custom scriptsRespond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradationMaintain data backups and recovery procedures for critical systemsPeriodically test restore processes to ensure COOP and disaster recovery objectives can be metEvaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) productsAddress all vulnerabilities identified via system scanningSystems Administrator Senior Advisor Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science or relevant field; or equivalent professional experience is preferredExperience using Azure Active DirectoryExperience using Azure MonitorAdvanced knowledge using Ansible or PowerShell scriptsExtensive experience in database architecture, design, and processing models.Extensive experience with data architecture, modeling, and management in a broad spectrum of data repository environments, such as data warehouse, on-line transaction processing and hybridKnowledge and experience working with data migration from different database systems to updated modern systemsSecret Clearance to startRequired Technical Skills:
Senior Level system administrator skills requiredCurrent and practical experience using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, MSSQLStrong HTML, CSS, AJAX, and JSON experienceRDBMS modeling, Data Integrity, SQL Developer/TOADDoD 8570.01M requirements for IAT Level IIOther work-depending certifications may be requiredPowerShell ScriptingExperience
