SYSTEM VICE PRESIDENT, HOSPITALIST SERVICE LINE | Work From Home/Remote

*Can be located anywhere in the U.S.* (strong preference for Eastern or Central time zones)

Reports to: Chief Care Delivery Officer

# of Direct Reports: 5

This is a brand-new position to lead our hospitalist service line, providing subject matter expertise across all markets, including employed and non-employed hospitalist arrangements. This role will also oversee the Behavioral Health and Wound Care system service lines. The person in this position will partner with the contracting team to define PSA terms, including SLAs and KPIs.

We are looking for someone with true hospitalist service line expertise or someone who has managed a larger-scale hospitalist program (employed and independent experience).

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position -  The Vice President of Hospital Services is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and driving clinical and operational standardization to reduce clinical variability, improve quality outcomes and drive clinical and operational efficiency. This position will partner with the medical director of hospital services and other key stakeholders including market leadership, contracted physician groups, and both contracted and employed providers to implement best practices, optimize clinical workflows and drive value-based performance.

Essential Job Functions

Provides subject matter expertise across all Bon Secours Mercy Health markets including employed and non-employed hospitalist arrangements

Oversees the Behavioral Health and Wound Care system service lines

Partners with the contracting team to define PSA terms including SLAs and KPIs

Manages outcomes and performance components of professional service agreements for the hospitalist service line and is accountable for contracted and employed SLAs and KPI performance including length of stay, readmission rates, infection prevention, patient experience and other clinical outcome metrics.

Collaborates with finance and operational teams to quantify the value and ROI of clinical initiatives and improvements.

Develops and ensures sound execution, measurement, and accountability of the clinical engagement strategy for hospitalist services, behavioral health and wound care services.

Utilizes a blend of strategic and operational leadership.

Analyzes clinical operations scorecard and other data to identify opportunities to reduce clinical variability, improve quality outcomes, drive clinical efficiency, and value generation in identified service lines.

Monitors initiative compliance and engages with underperforming markets to develop action plans and assist in addressing barriers to achieve compliance/improvement targets.

Education

Masters Degree in Hospital administration, business or related field (required)

Work Experience

10+ years in senior level leadership position (required).

Understands hospital operations, supply chain operations and processes, health system leadership, leading through influence in a matrixed structure (preferred).

Prior experience managing contracted provider groups (preferred)
