SHORT DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Patching Specialist (System/Server Support Engineer) to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and compliance of our Windows and Linux server environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in system administration, security patching, and automation, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Support:Provide daily operational support for operating systems, including Windows and Linux servers.Address issues related to software, security patch packaging, and scripting.Patching and Compliance:Package, test, validate, and deploy software and security patches across Windows and Linux environments.Assist server support teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure server compliance with organizational security policies.Automation & Optimization:Deliver all job duties with an “automation-first” mindset, striving for efficiency and scalability.Maintain and enhance automation scripts using tools like Ansible Playbooks to streamline patching processes.Tooling Expertise:Use SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) to prepare and deploy software packages.Manage and perform Linux patching using Red Hat Satellite.Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional server teams to meet patching and compliance objectives.Provide technical guidance and support to resolve patching-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:Proven experience in Windows and Linux server administration, patching, and vulnerability remediation.Hands-on experience with SCCM for software package preparation and deployment.Proficiency in maintaining and scripting of Ansible Playbooks for patching automation.Familiarity with Red Hat Satellite for Linux patching and management.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.An automation mindset with the ability to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
PREFERRED:Knowledge of security compliance frameworks and policies.Experience in a fast-paced IT environment with a focus on security and patch management.Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
