**Description**
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Refine and execute the design of Apple products while collaborating with industrial designers, product integrity, hardware, software, and technology groups. Develop initial product layouts, by generating concepts, prototyping, demonstrating and testing to drive down-selection. Optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability through partnership with external vendors and internal manufacturing teams. Perform stress, tolerance, and failure analyses to ensure design meets requirements throughout its lifecycle. Support factory builds in Asia. Job requires 20% international and domestic travel. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
+ Experience and/or education must include:
+ Working with common manufacturing techniques including CNC, PCB, MIM, Plastic injection molding, thermoforming, and compression molding.
+ Working with GD&T for efficient datum and dimension schemes to balance design tolerance and manufacturability
+ Managing vendors in global supply chain to align DFM, process, and quality requirements.
+ Designing and building high fidelity prototypes to validate thermal, mechanical, and flow-acoustic response.
+ Performing statistical analysis using JMP, MATLAB, or Python.
+ Working with common consumer-electronic device technologies and balancing product integration and technology requirements for high-volume manufacturing.
+ Performing tolerance analysis leveraging GD&T and statistical methods including RSS and Monte Carlo.
+ Working in large assembly 3D CAD environment
+ Selecting designs and materials for a variety of rigid, viscoelastic, and composite materials
+ Applying the first principle of heat transfer to thermal architecture designs
+ Providing front line factory support and evaluating root cause failure analysis
