Job Description Insight Global is hiring a Systems Integrator to provide support and maintenance for a large VR client working on VR technology. You will be responsible for the ongoing health, maintenance, and troubleshooting of client system hosts and infrastructure. This includes cataloging issues, validating system health, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve hardware and network problems. Key Responsibilities 1. Weekly Maintenance Cadence a. Conduct regular validation tests to ensure hosts are healthy. b. Track and catalog unhealthy hosts, maintaining up-to-date records of outstanding issues. 2. Issue Diagnosis & Resolution a. Investigate and triage server failures b. Troubleshoot interactions and failure modes with application stack that lead to degraded performance c. Perform hardware swaps (e.g., DAC replacement) to isolate and resolve physical component failures. d. Collaborate with partner teams to address network interfaces in a down state. 3. Task & Issue Tracking a. Leveraging tasks and dashboards to monitor progress and resolution of cataloged issues. b. Maintain clear documentation and communication regarding issue status and next steps. 4. Process Improvements: Contribute to and utilize the test suite run-book (work in progress). 5. Collaboration: a. Work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to coordinate troubleshooting and maintenance activities. b. Communicate findings, escalate issues, and request support as needed. Skills and Requirements -Bachelor's degree in Engineering field -Experience with Linux systems and server hardware troubleshooting. -Familiarity with command-line tools for monitoring and diagnostics (e.g., top, systemctl, journalctl). -Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures (e.g., disk, memory, network cards). -Experience writing basic scripts (Python, Bash) too automate testing and analysis workflows. -Experience using tools like ping, traceroute, netstat and Wireshark for network troubleshooting. -Understanding TCP/IP network interfaces and bandwidth analysis. -Performing hardware swaps and component isolation. Monitoring storage capacity and performance. -Maintaining clear records of issues and resolutions. -Communicating status and next steps to stakeholders. -Working effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, support). -Escalating and communicating issues as needed. -Experience with PCIe, DACs, and network interface troubleshooting. -Experience with distributed or networked storage (NFS, NAS, SAN).
