How You’ll Find Success

\n\nDeep knowledge in Linux systems and a variety of open source tooling/technologies\nEstablishing productive working relationships with other platform teams, AWS counterparts, security, and compliance teams\nDesigning with an eye towards scalability, both in technical measures and organizational processes\nPossessing a customer-obsessed attitude when working with application teams within the company\nEmphasize scalable and high-performance architectural design, ensuring solutions are both efficient and sustainable\nMaintain a proactive mindset to identify gaps in platform performance and address them effectively\n\n


How You'll Grow

\n\nYou will be working with cutting edge Kubernetes ingress technologies, like Gateway API to architect and implement how application ingress works at enterprise, worldwide, scale\nYou will gain expertise in DNS and service discovery technologies, including Route53\nYou will work with Cilium and Hubble as a part of the overall service mesh and application visibility layer of our infrastructure\n\n


Things You’ll Do

\n\nInfluence the way that engineers at Qualtrics running applications through best-in-class tooling, and services\nYou will create, deploy, and operate services that ensure our overall platform exceeds goals for availability, scalability, and performance\nYou will help define how Qualtrics engineers operate containerized workloads\nYou will architect the services and design the best practices for service discovery for all of Qualtrics engineering\nParticipate in periodic on-call responsibilities as part of a global team

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

\n\nExperience in high-level languages like Go/Python and scripting languages like Bash\nExperience with distributed systems and microservices architectures\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, navigate through unfamiliar code, and quickly learn new technologies\nStrong experience with Linux OS and its administration\nUnderstanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and across various teams\nGood understanding of web technologies & protocols e.g. TCP/IP and HTTP\nExperience with professional software engineering practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documents)\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)\nKnowledge and practice of DevOps culture\nExperience in incident response and root cause analysis

\n\nOn the Platform Infrastructure team, we work closely with AWS, aligning with our AWS TAMs to understand their internal roadmap of enterprise-focused service mesh, API gateways, and container orchestration features.\nWe work at tremendous scale; our services must scale to support the entire landscape of Qualtrics engineering. \nThousands of hosts in regions across the globe. \nThis team sits alongside all of the other internal platforms, infrastructure, and developer experience teams that power Qualtrics.\n We hold a high bar across these teams and foster a culture of transparent discussion and rigorous design reviews.\n\n
