The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.
The AMS business manages 11% of the world’s airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of two key ATM solutions including TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.
This role will initially support the TopSKY-ATC (HE) product.
The Systems Engineer will engage with key stakeholders, including; solution architects, speciality engineers (Safety, Security, HF), ILS and ATM subject matter experts to prepare and deliver requirement and design changes with reference to a defined system functional baseline to satisfy customer needs and project/bid cost targets.
As a Systems Engineer, you are accountable for:
Contribute to the design and development of solutions to meet customer requirements, whilst ensuring the integrity of the System functional baseline and architectureContribute to defining solutions that deliver the best trade-off between requirements, cost, schedule and risk, which meet our customer’s needsPrepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Problem Change Requests (PCRs)Create requirements and manage traceability using DOORSEngage with transverse teams (Safety, Human Factor, Performance, Security) related to the function are consideredParticipate in technical reviews and working groups as requiredProactively participate in PI planningSupport your Squad members (software, integration and verification)Promote knowledge sharing ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projectsFollow Thales processes and practises and contribute to their improvementQualifications
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplinePostgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (Desirable)Experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM ) is mandatoryKnowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle and relevant standards eg. ISO/IEC15288Knowledge of product development methodologies, with a particular focus on iterative/agile developmentKnowledge of Safety, Security and Human Factors standards and practicesDemonstrated ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multidiscipline, multi-culture environmentCoaching/sharing knowledgeCapability to manage various stakeholders having different objectivesA positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.Comfort in facing and managing complexitySound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessaryExcellent written and oral communication skills in EnglishDesirable:
Experience in Systems Engineering including; Requirements, Design, Integration and Verification and ValidationExperience in ATM Domain and related standards eg. ICAO, EurocontrolExperience in System Engineering tools eg. DOORs, Polarian, JiraExperience in Model Based Systems Engineering and tools eg.
