System Director Real Estate Regulatory Compliance
**Job Summary and Responsibilities** The System Director, Regulatory Compliance will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and leading comprehensive functions for the CommonSpirit Health (CSH) National Real Estate Services (NRES) team. This role will lead initiatives spanning multiple geographies and services lines within the organization, requiring administration with a unified national budget and delivery program. This will include critical functions of capital program budget development, aligning stakeholders, initiative approval, program optimization, and reporting by developing and maintaining dashboards that leverage real time data analytics. The System Director will align the NRES Regulatory Compliance Program with CSH organizational goals and objectives, ensuring they support National, Regional, and Market strategies with a focus on innovation and modernization. This role will manage resource alignment between CSH NRES, Patient Safety, Emergency Management, and Quality platforms to support the key strategic and programmatic initiatives in the portfolio. The SD will serve as the NRES point of contact, leading the program teams on broad strategic initiatives with multi-dimensional stakeholders, national, and regional partners. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive physical environment regulatory compliance program for NRES across all CommonSpirit Health facilities. Establish and enforce program governance across NRES Real Estate and Strategy, Planning, Design and Construction, and Facilities Management functions. Ensure compliance with TJC, State Health Departments, NFPA, EPA, DEP, ADA and local building codes and all other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ). Monitor and track compliance metrics, providing regular reports to the System Vice President of National Programs and other stakeholders. Stay current with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices, updating compliance programs and procedures as needed. Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and develop mitigation strategies. Collaborate with other departments, such as Legal, Risk Management, and Quality to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance. Identify and prioritize technical training needs for NRES Real Estate and Strategy, Planning, Design and Construction, and Facilities Management teams. Develop or source technical training programs on a variety of topics, including equipment maintenance, safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices. Utilize a variety of training methods, such as classroom instruction, online learning, hands-on training, and simulations. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as needed to improve learning outcomes. Stay current with new technologies and training methodologies, incorporating them into training programs as appropriate. **Job Requirements** Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, healthcare administration, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in facilities management, compliance, or training, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Required Licensure and Certifications (minimum of two): CHSP, CHFM, CSSGB, NFPA CLSS-HC, HACP-CMS/PE/IC Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to healthcare facilities management, including The Joint Commission, NFPA, CHIQ, CMS, DNV and OSHA. Experience developing and implementing compliance programs and training programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
