Job Title: System Design Integration Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid – (3 Office Days/Week)

In this role you will provide sound knowledge in Systems Design Integration, being responsible for and having knowledge in: problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, physical & functional systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, physical & functional systems and components throughout the product lifecycle.

What you will be doing:

As a Product Definition Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in enabling the delivery of our Group Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) Strategy. This role sits within the Digital Design and Industrialization (DD&I) Team.  This role includes an opportunity to grow technically alongside driving forward the Product Definition Capability. It also includes Supporting delivery of the automation workstreams (such as MBD) and Digital Transformation Strategy, enabling future efficiencies within Engineering.

Who we’re looking for:

Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions. Integrate and manage interfaces.Design of systems using Systems Engineering principals including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.Problem resolution experience including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs). Dealing with ambiguity.Applying knowledge of the importance of determining, managing & flowing system level requirements.Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and technical investigations.Verifying that the system meets the requirements and ownership of standardization reports.Good inter-personal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with and influence all levels including the customer.Work with and co-ordinate extended (i.e. not necessarily co-located) multi-disciplinary teams.

Basic Qualifications:

An Associate Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience as listed below OR;A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of related experience as listed below OR;A Masters degree in EngineeringTo be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Requirements:

Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and understand cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parametersKnowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworksGood communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
