To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a System Architect located in Buffalo Grove, IL.
Reporting to the Systems Architecture Manager, the System Architect with strong expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and enterprise system integration, who can also contribute to solution architecture decisions. This role combines strategic analysis, technical leadership, and hands-on design support, ensuring that our manufacturing systems are integrated using modern, scalable, and secure technologies. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business, IT, and architecture teams, influencing technology direction while ensuring business value.
What a typical day looks like:
Engage with business stakeholders to capture and document functional and non-functional requirements.Translate business needs into detailed system specifications and integration requirements.Collaborate with solution architects to design integration patterns between MES and ERP, WMS, QMS, and other systems.Contribute to architecture discussions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.Work with modern integration technologies (e.g., REST APIs, OPC UA, MQTT, Kafka, NiFi, RabbitMQ, Node Red).Support data flow design for real-time and batch processPartner with development teams to validate technical feasibility and ensure adherence to requirements.Define and execute test cases for system and integration validationMaintain clear documentation for requirements, design decisions, and integration flows.Ensure compliance with security, data integrity, and regulatory standardsIdentify opportunities to optimize MES processes and integration strategies.Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Bachelor’s degree in n Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.7+ years in Business Systems Analysis, Solution Design, or architect roles.Proven experience with MES SystemsStrong background in system integration and enterprise architecture principlesProficiency in integration technologies (APIs, message brokers, event-driven architecture).Experience with Microservices Architecture Expertise with data modeling, SQL, and real-time data streamingExcellent communication and stakeholder management.Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor junior analysts.#LI-EA1
