**Job Summary**
**Systems Administrator, Level II or III**
We are seeking a Tier II Cloud Engineer to support Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace services at the University. This role will provide technical guidance in planning and implementing new solutions while ensuring the stability and reliability of existing platforms. You will work closely with IT and business partners to design and deliver solutions that support institutional needs, with emphasis on Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and Compliance Center, along with integrations into both physical and digital university environments.
+ Manage daily service requests and incident ticket queues.
+ Monitor system alerts and troubleshoot issues across Unified Communications and collaboration platforms.
+ Collaborate with other engineers on complex tasks and cross-functional projects.
+ Contribute to the design, deployment, and support of Unified Communications projects as assigned.
+ Ensure email and messaging services are fully functional and optimized.
+ Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support processes.
+ Provide Tier II escalation support, mentoring Tier I staff when appropriate.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation (e.g., PowerShell scripting).

Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and associated peripheral equipment. Maintain operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other issues. Perform application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users, optimizing remote access, and security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications. Coordinate with department leadership to plan, design, and schedule the release of all software, hardware, and operating system updates. Develop and enhance processes and technical documentation, create back-up procedures, test plans, and reports. Prioritize and respond to requests for service and may provide escalation support to helpdesk staff. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Preferences**
+ At least 2 years of professional IT experience in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or related collaboration/cloud platforms.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
+ Microsoft Exchange and/or Microsoft 365 certifications.
+ Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace.
+ Cloud application integration experience.
+ Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar).
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
