our own identity with a unique payroll benefits performance management system service recognition programs and other common practices across the systemPosition SummaryManagement oversight including the implementation standardization integration centralization and optimization of the Occupational Safety and Health OHS program across the HHC system Provides and coordinates risk assessments and acts a technical resource for OHS programs Manages the root cause and trends of OSHA statistics and metrics for each HHC entity to ensure proper program focus and development Investigates and responds to inquiries complaints and citations from OSHA and the CTState Workersrsquo Compensation Commission Presents information to HHC and entity specific ELTrsquos to benchmark and track work related injuries and claim experience Provides direct support as required for HHC affiliates and acts as a representative on EOCSafety Committees as an OHS expert Will manage general OHS matters and assists in the development and implementation of OHS training courses Manages the delivery of ergonomic assessments and recommends work station improvements and upgrades Acts as the Transportation Coordinator for the System Support Office and consults on DOT issues Develops and writes policies and procedures Provides back up support as needed for workersrsquo compensation administration Performs other duties as assigned by System Director of EOC and Regulatory CompliancePosition ResponsibilitiesKey areas of responsibility Manages Occupational Health Safety OHS risk assessments policies and protocols key performance indicators for all HHC entities Conducts OHS risk assessments and recommends respecting corrective actions for HHC entities as related to but not limited to Indoor air quality personal protection equipment noise heat and cold stress confined space etc Manages HHC OSHA metrics and denotes trends in order to reduce risk and liability for HHC as related to Occupational safety and Health Administrative OSHA programs such as slips trips and falls material handling and workplace violence Acts as a consultant and resource to all Hartford Healthcare affiliates in matters related to occupational safety and health incidents and accidents including transportation matters Manages training to departmental staff Safety Coordinators EOCSafety Committee members and manages the Grainger LMS system in order to ensure that appropriate OHS policies are established and training requirements are met Responsible for OSHA and Joint Commission regulatory requirements related to OHS job hazard assessments Works effectively as a leader with all departments to provide quality EHS support through communication cooperation and collaboration Manages the function and compliance of all the HHC Colleague Safety Committees Manages the entire HHC Office Ergonomics program Manages the HHC response to OSHA investigations complaints hospitalizations and onsite visitsWorking
